Can an image translator preserve a manga page?

Image translation can replace detected text inside a page without requiring you to retype every line. The output still needs review: vertical text, stylized sound effects, handwriting and text over artwork may be missed or reconstructed imperfectly.

Translate and review one page first

Begin with a representative page before committing a whole chapter to a batch.

1. Use a legible scan that you have permission to translate and avoid cutting off dialogue at the edges.
2. Choose the language pair and include character names or approved terms in the prompt.
3. Translate one page and compare panels in the intended reading order.
4. Check the speaker in each bubble, names, negation, sound effects and text that crosses artwork.
5. Adjust the editable text where available. Use the same naming conventions for the remaining pages and review each export.

When is manual lettering preferable?

Use manual editing when a page relies on decorative lettering, a complex script direction or typography that is central to the artwork. OCR followed by translation can help you read the page, but producing a polished replacement image requires a separate lettering step.
