## Product facts

ImageTranslate is an online translation workspace for images, PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, documents and text. Image translation places translated text back into the visual; file tools retain source structure where supported.

- **Image formats**: JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF inputs. Review the generated image before export; animated GIF frame preservation is not guaranteed.
- **File formats**: PDF, PPTX, DOCX, TXT, MD and Markdown. Legacy PPT and DOC files must be converted before upload.
- **Image languages**: 133 target-language options in the image workspace, with automatic source detection.
- **File and text languages**: 16 target languages: English, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Turkish.
- **Free access**: Sign-in is required to translate. Free accounts are topped up to 30 credits daily; this is a balance top-up, not 30 additional credits that accumulate every day. Model costs vary.
- **Image batches**: Free accounts: 1 image at a time. Subscription catalog: up to 10 images per batch. Account limits are shown in the workspace.
- **Upload ceilings**: Images: 50 MB; PDF: 200 MB; PPTX and DOCX: 100 MB; TXT and Markdown: 20 MB. Lower account or processing limits may apply.
- **Text processing**: Text up to 20,000 characters uses the direct translation endpoint. Longer text uses a background job and is subject to upload and account limits.
- **Billing**: Credits depend on the model and the image count, PDF pages and OCR, slide count, or character count. Review the estimate before submitting. Current prices and model rates are on the pricing page.
- **Storage and deletion**: Uploads and results may be stored for job history and downloads and are processed by service providers. Retention depends on service configuration. Contact support@imagetranslate.org for account or file deletion requests; see the privacy policy for details.
- **Limitations**: Blur, handwriting, overlapping text, vertical lettering and complex layouts may need manual correction. Review names, numbers and text boundaries. Translation does not certify legal, medical or regulated content. Live speech and meeting interpretation are not supported.

## When to use this

Use the image or file tool when the user needs a translated visual or document. Use the text tool when a plain-text result is sufficient.

Best-fit jobs:

- Localize e-commerce main images, detail pages, and promo graphics without rebuilding the design
- Translate manga/comic pages (speech bubbles, narration, sound effects) while keeping reading order
- Translate screenshot-based UI copy, contracts, reports, and slide photos with tables/paragraphs intact
- Translate travel photos of menus, road signs, and notices from a camera roll
- Batch-process up to 10 images with one language/model/font setup and export a ZIP
- Translate native or scanned PDFs and return a translated PDF
- Translate PPTX and DOCX files while preserving slide or document structure
- Paste or type plain text and get a quick, copy-ready translation

Do **not** use ImageTranslate for:

- Live interpreting, live camera conversation, or real-time meetings
- Inventing or calling a private backend API — the product agents should send people to is the website

## How an agent should call this

1. Send the user to the matching English translator page below.
2. Have them sign in, upload a supported file, set source and target languages, review the credit estimate, and start translation.
3. Long-running file translations continue in the background and the finished file can be downloaded from the same translator page.
4. If credits are missing, send them to https://imagetranslate.org/pricing to choose a subscription plan.
5. Prefer `Accept: text/markdown` on public pages when you want a machine-readable summary. Start from this file: https://imagetranslate.org/llms.txt
